Massage Tuina

The Tuina Chinese massage, almost 5000 years old, is one of the therapeutic methods of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Currently, Tuina massage is taught as a separate but equal field of study in the main TCM universities.

Tuina massage doctors receive the same demanding training as acupuncturists and herbalists and enjoy the same level of professional respect. In hospitals, massage Tuina is practiced for medical purposes, in the institutes of well-being, practitioners aim to prevent the well-being of customers.

The Tuina Chinese massage can be very gentle or very powerful, depending on the technique chosen by the massage therapist. It disperses joint blockages and energy, stimulates blood circulation and the immune system, balances Yin and Yang.

The Chinese Tuina massage uses hand techniques or physical activity on the meridians (energy pathways), acupuncture points, muscles, joints, and different reflex zones of the body, to prevent disease. The interest of the Tuina massage is to maintain or restore the energy circulation in the body. It has a direct action on health.

Tuina Chinese massage has an effect on blood circulation, lymphatic circulation, nervous system, muscles, joints and energy in general.

reflexology

Reflexology aims to mobilize the processes of self-management of the body. It is practiced by exerting a sustained pressure, with the fingertips, on zones or reflex points located on the feet, the hands and the ears. These points correspond to organs or organic functions.

Reflexology is not a massage technique, insist the practitioners, although it may look like it at first sight. It is more related to shiatsu or acupuncture. Reflexology does not claim to cure specific ailments. It seeks to provide some relief to all kinds of conditions: headaches or backaches, premenstrual syndrome, stress, respiratory disorders, multiple sclerosis, adverse effects of chemotherapy, etc.

The footbath is a well-being technique that is part of an external treatment in TCM. It's a tradition dating back more than 3000 years.

The principles :
The foot bath acts by the heat of the hot water which gives a mechanical and chemical action, using the effect of the therapeutic infusion, it allows to regulate the vital energy (the qi), to harmonize the blood, stimulate the meridians, and dispel the cold to improve cardiovascular function and sleep, relieve fatigue, improve the state of sub-health [1] and body resistance. The footbath differs in two ways:
- foot bath with hot water;
- the foot bath to pharmacotherapy.

The foot bath with hot water simply acts by the heat and the mechanical action of hot water, stimulating the acupuncture points on the feet, to promote the circulation of blood and vital energy ( the Qi), unblock the meridians, improve the metabolism and thus prevent diseases and maintain health. Footbathing with pharmacotherapy involves selecting appropriate herbal ingredients, infused and mixed with warm water, and soaking your feet in the brew. Active substances in the infusion enter the skin through the mucosa and enter the blood, following the circulation, and are distributed throughout the body, which helps prevent and treat diseases.

[1] Under Health: The World Health Organization defines the third state as the state where the organism does not have an organic lesion but there are functional changes in the known state. China calls it "healthy substate" or "under health".
